Residing in Perth, Western Australia, Carolyn Murdoch is a botanical artist specialising in watercolour and graphite. Carolyn has always pursued artistic endeavours, but her passion for botanical art came to fruition during a watercolour course where she was captivated by a woman painting a Eucalyptus Caesia, also known as a Silver Princess. Her interest in the aesthetics, beauty and biological make up of plant species grew, and she found herself with a desire to practice botanical art.
Whilst living in Dublin, Ireland in 2016, Carolyn was mentored by Shevaun Doherty, refining her watercolour techniques and developing her style. In 2017, she commenced a Distance Learning Diploma Course at the UK Society of Botanical Art, graduating in 2019 with distinction and the Jantien Burggraaft Memorial Award for exceptional progress, gaining her many accolades.
Carolyn is now enjoying painting the many wildflowers that Western Australia has.
