Clark, Thea

As an adult, I took some classes in traditional drawing techniques with charcoal and graphite and discovered that I could draw. After we moved to Melbourne in 2001, I joined the Saturday botanical illustration classes held by the FRBG Melbourne and started to develop my understanding of botanical art and improve my techniques. I love to experiment with new methods and materials but I still regularly return to my first love of pencil drawing. Once I retired, I had more time for art classes and helping with organising exhibitions. These include the 2011 Eternal Order in Nature exhibition and all the TABI and reFraming Nature exhibitions since then. I have also exhibited in TABI in 2016 and 2018 and in reFraming Nature. I joined the Botanical Art Society of Australia committee in 2011 to help support Australian botanical artists and I have been President or Vice President for the last 9 years. I have exhibited with BASA in both Sydney and Melbourne and helped organise the Botanical Art World-wide exhibition in 2018.
